BACK TO THE HOLL'R (Taken from KMC bulletin)
The O2 band will be making a return trip to Panco, KY this Sept 8-10 where they will be leading worship during a 3 day youth tent revival. Last year, 300 people came in the rain to experience praise and worship music for the first time in their lives. Several made first time commitments to Jesus Christ and have been growing in their faith in the last year. We look forward to encouraging and empowering those new believers as well as the opportunities of sharing Christ with those who have never heard. We have 3 opportunities to sing: Thursday eve, Friday eve and Saturday eve. Last year, we were able to provide a concert at the local high school as well. Panco, KY is in the poorest county in the U.S. and is plagued by the symptoms of abused welfare, no jobs, few churches and plenty of drugs and alcohol. Spiritual warfare abounds (as it does here) as Satan battles for their young folks' lives. Deep in the heart of the mountains, the people are in desperate need of a Savior, and at Panco Community Church, they strive to meet that need. They provide jobs at a woodshop and offer them Jesus 3 times a week at the church, which is often full. O2 is partnering with PCC for this event.
HELP O2 TANK UP!!
This trip will be costing us (the O2 band) $5 per gallon of gas (fuel cost, van rental, food, etc.) to travel this year. The round trip is 1400 miles and will require at least 120 gallons of gas. If you are interested in helping O2 financially, please see Troy Miller, Rodney Gehman, or Jason Boller before Sept 8. Also, Panco Community Church needs finances to continue to improve its equipment in the shop and their vehicles, so any additional funds will go toward this mission.
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
The O2 band: Rodney Gehman (KMC), Jonathan Miller (O2), Tim Bender (UDC), Emily Miller (O2), and Nate Yoder (KMC). Sound, Lighting and Equipment personnel: Kendal Yoder (KMC), Jason Boller (KMC), Troy Miller (KMC), Kyle Miller (LDC), James Graham (LDC), Jason King (Sunnyside) Additional volunteers: Anna Brown (LDC), Jodi Gehman (KMC), and others. Youth Evangelist: Jason Carpenter (from KY) The Kentucky staff; The Seed of Abraham (the former Hells Angels Motorcycle gang) who will be ministering on Saturday noon; and the prayer teams.
