AT LDC THIS WEEK:
- Ladies Tuesday morning prayer time
at 7:30 at the church.- Men’s Wednesday morning prayer time at 6:00 at the church.
- The message next Sunday will be "Grace" by Dick Swartzendruber.
Our Maundy Thursday Communion Service will be held in the church basement on April 13 at 6:30 pm. We will be having a light meal with communion and footwashing. Plan to attend with family and friends, because we will be sitting at tables and receiving communion as groups. Childcare will be provided for infants to age 3 years.
EASTER SUNDAY SERVICES
will begin with a continental breakfast and fellowship at 8:45 am followed by worship at 9:30 am. We will NOT have Sunday School on Easter Sunday.
ALL ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS
please inform the office which teaching option that your class will use from April 30 to May 28. Options are 1) to go back over parts of the 40 Days of Purpose, 2) the "Healing Healthcare" study, 3) the Bible Study on the Book of James. Materials to for option #2 and #3 will be available in the church office by next Sunday.
PARENTS
please impress upon your children that it is dangerous to play on the roads on either side of the church! Play is a wonderful thing, but doing so on the road could leave an "impression" that we would rather avoid.
FUSION YOUTH Ministries along with O2 Ministries are sponsoring a showing of the film, "The Passion of the Christ." The showing will begin at 6:00 pm this evening at Kalona Mennonite. This is a free showing, open to the public and childcare will be provided.
Class 101
, for those seeking baptism, transfer of membership or preparation for advancing into the other classes, will be held on Saturday, April 22, from 2 pm to 7 pm. This class covers our basic understanding of God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and how the church functions today. Please sign up for this class with Pastor Don or the church office. There is also a sign up sheet at Grand Central.Class 201 – "Getting Serious about God", the second of four classes designed to deepen our understanding Christianity, will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 2:00pm to 7:00 pm. This class focuses on discovering our spiritual maturity. Class 101 is required before taking this class. Please sign up for this class with Pastor Don or the church office. There is also a sign up sheet at Grand Central.
MYFers meet this week with their mentors at the mentor\mentoree meeting here at church. If you have not turned in your $50 and health release form for our summer service project in Columbus, Ohio, please do it ASAP. Thanks! Wednesday, April 19, will be a planning meeting for officers. The location will be announced later. Mark your calendars, please.
MENTORS/MENTOREES:
Mark your calendars. We will be having a structured mentor/mentoree meeting on Wednesday, April 12, at 7:00 p.m. We will meet in the church foyer for our group meeting and then break up into our mentor/mentoree groups to have individual time together. Check your mailboxes for more details.
Please save this date: May 7th a Family Potluck/wedding shower is being planned for Jerad Ropp & Amy Steele immediately following the church service. More details will follow at a later date.
A discussion regarding an associate pastor will be part of our Town Hall Meeting on May 7 at 6:30 pm in the basement.

IMS student workdays are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, April 12 and 13. The projects this spring are to fund student aid and the remodeling of the cafeteria. If you would like to hire a student, please all the school office (319-656-2073) or contact a student. All money contributed will be matched 125%.
Sara Miller, a senior at IMS and the daughter of James and Melody Miller, will present a piano recital on Saturday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the IMS chapel. Sara will be performing works of composers Turina, Debussy, and Schubert, as well as gospel and sacred selections. The public is invited to the recital and the reception that follows.
Shirley Rath, BSN will be giving the program titled "Taking Care of the Caregiver" at the Caregivers Support Group to be held at Pleasantview Home on Wednesday, April 12, in the Chapel/Activity Blue Room at 2:30 p.m.

The Mennonite Historical Society of Iowa will have its Spring Meeting Tuesday May 9, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kalona Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall. The Public is invited to attend.
